We welcome a wide range of works that explore mobility, transport, and the spaces shaped by how we move.

We encourage works that critically examine car-centric infrastructure and its impact on cities, people, and the environment, as well as films that explore alternative ways of moving.

We accept both short and feature-length films across fiction, documentary, animation, experimental, video art, music videos and videopoetry.

We are excited to receive submissions from all over the world. Whether you’re an emerging filmmaker or an established voice, we want to see your perspective on movement and mobility.

HOW do i submit?

Films must be submitted via FilmFreeway.

We accept both short and feature-length films across fiction, documentary, animation, experimental, video art, and music & poetry videos.

  • Films not in English must include English subtitles.

  • Submissions are open to filmmakers from all over the world.

  • We welcome filmmakers of all experience levels and productions of any budget.

  • All submission fees are non-refundable.

  • If selected, filmmakers must provide the film in DCP, ProRes, or MP4 (H.264/H.265, min. 1920x1080 resolution).

  • If selected, filmmakers must provide a high-resolution still (1920x1080 or higher) for promotional use. Trailers and posters are encouraged for marketing. The festival reserves the right to use excerpts, stills, and trailers for publicity.

  • Filmmakers must secure all necessary rights (e.g., music, archival footage, third-party materials). By submitting, filmmakers confirm they hold all necessary rights and permissions.

  • Filmmakers are allowed to submit more than one film for the Festival provided that each film is submitted separately and meet BCFF guidelines

  • BCFF does not have a premiere requirement. Films already available online are eligible for submission.

  • Selected films will be screened during the festival program, with scheduling at the discretion of the festival team.

  • Winners will be announced at the festival’s awards ceremony; no prior notification of winners will be given.

  • All programming and jury decisions are final.
